Disable the online shopping results from the Ubuntu Unity Dash under System Settings>Security & Privacy>Search.
Disable Sticky edges under System Settings>Screen Display>Sticky Edges.

Adjust brightness and lock.

Install Google Chrome.
Uninstall Ubuntu Firefox extension
To check hardware information, run lshw -sanitize > lshw.txt in terminal then type exit to finish outputting the file.
